2011 Guado al Melo Atis Bolgheri DOC Superiore

750 ml

Sustainable winery.

80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc & Merlot grapes from selected vineyard parcels in the hills of Castagneto Carducci (Bolgheri) that run along the Tuscan coastline. Made without correctives or additives that would alter the original characteristics of the grapes. Refinement on lees for 24 months in small French oak barrels (only 10% new) and almost 12 months in the bottle.

Deep ruby tending to garnet. Clean and elegant. Once in the glass the various elements evolve little by little to its rich bouquet of spice, red fruit, licorice and balsamic hints of peppermint (the latter a typical mark of the Bolgheri terroir). Intense and smooth palate, well balanced and with a long finish. Pairs perfectly with meat, rich pasta dishes, wild game, aged and blue cheese. Wonderful as a “meditation wine”. Medium-long ageing potential
