Mocali

The Mocali Estate is in a setting of natural Tuscan beauty, where vineyards and olive groves alternate with oak and pine forest. It was established in the 1950s by Dino Ciacci, who was one of the twenty-five founders of the Consortium of Brunello di Montalcino. He was succeeded by his nephew Tiziano Ciacci who is its present owner. The vineyards are situated just south-west of Montalcino on 350 metre slopes facing Castiglione del Bosco, planted in mineral-rich soils of marl and limestone with sand and clay and cover a total of 32 hectares, of which 10 are vineyards (6 ha of Sangiovese Grosso, dedicated to Brunello di Montalcino) and 2 ha of olive groves.

Mocali wines continually receive excellent reviews from Robert Parker, James Suckling, Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast and awards in Gambero Rosso and Bibenda Italian wine guides.
